Mushroom Dragon by Wolf Nymph

Completed illustration for my digital illustration class! This piece serves a dual purpose, as part of an upcoming dragon themed card deck project, which I'm lucky to be a part of.

I struggled with this piece at first, given the constraints of the assignment. But I found a way to save the composition, and get exactly what I wanted. So I'm pretty happy with this. =)

Blu by Wolf Nymph

9" X 12" Marker and colored pencil commission for Keyox! I don't have this color blue in a straight marker form, so I had to layer up ultramarine, true blue and lilac over and over to get the color I wanted. Blu here is a beautiful little midget wolf, only 2 feet tall! Can you say CUTE! ^__^

The Last Donut by Wolf Nymph

I see you're eating the last donut.... *ZZZZAAAP*

Second assignment for my digital illustration class. Meet Hugo, Kinsey's best friend and the engineer of the PAC implants. He's a bit of a mad scientist, young but brilliant, and totally distracted unless the project he's working on is something really special. I suppose that's why they become friends in the first place. Kinsey is practically a living science project for Hugo, who is constantly coming up with ways to use her powers, and ways to better her PAC spinal implants. And in turn, Hugo's tolerant and outgoing personality disarm's Kinsey's temper and lets her open up a little.<br><br><a href="http://wolfnymph.artspots.com/image/25202/the-last-donut"><img src="http://www.artspots.com/files/image/file/25202/thumb_210/spark_zaps_hugo_sm.jpg" alt="Thumbnail" /></a><br /><br />Medium: photoshop<br />Tags: lightening spark donut Zap electrify<br />

Bright Io by Wolf Nymph

Finished commission for Psychopomp16 (on DA) of her character Io. Did this one on 9" X 12" bristol with prismacolor markers and a tad of colored pencil. I think my favorite part of this is the wings, since I used nambroths wing tutorial to get the feather layering as correct as I could. I'm sure I didn't get everything correct, but I think her tutorial made a big difference for me. Check it out here ( http://nambroth.deviantart.com/art/Realistic-Bird-Wings-96309379 )

The Purest Soul by Wolf Nymph

Happy 17th birthday to my pup Wolfy, who passed away nearly one year ago at the age of 16. Instead of remember his death and have a somber day, I tried to remember his life, what he did for me as my best friend growing up. So happy 17th birthday little brother. You are missed and celebrated....

Dangerous Spark by Wolf Nymph

First piece of the new semester! This one is for my digital illustration class, in which I decided to focus on the non-fan version of Spark. Her back story is fleshed out quite well now, thanks to a manic all-nighter last week, drinking too much white tea. (can you ever have too much?)

Anyway! This was the first assignment for said class, which is due tomorrow morning. I'm REALLY not a digital artist, so I surprised myself with this one. Small things to fix, don't care though. This is just the first foray into digital painting this semester, other pieces await my attention.

Anyone curious about Spark's backstory (the one not based out of the Marvel universe), I'm considering making a comic. It would be a pretty huge project for me, so it won't happen any time soon. But I'm so in love with this character that I would like to do it someday on my own time.

Darkwings by Wolf Nymph

He's a little less cheery than his brother, but just as floofy! Sorry if you're getting sick of seeing canines with feathers or wings, maybe I should branch out and draw some felines with feathers or wings. XD When I'm back in school, I won't have a chance to indulge this favorite drawing subject of mine, so I guess I'm getting it all out while I can.

Marker colors: Black, 50% cool grey, 30% cool grey, blondewood and eggshell.
Colored pencil colors: sand, white and black
And some graphite in there to refine texture/accentuate shadows etc...

Lightwings by Wolf Nymph

Dear Furry Community.... I herd u leik huskiez. =D

Besides American Eskimos, I don't think I've ever drawn a specific breed of dog. So I tried my hand at a light colored husky, and gave him some cute little wings to add to his cuddle-ability. I wish he were real, I need a happy doggy hug to banish art block! ;__;

Anyway, did this with prismacolor markers and graphite on 6" X 8" bristol. The colors I used were black, 30% cool grey, 20% cool grey, blondewood, sand, eggshell (for his fur) clay rose, salmon pink (for mouth and ears) and some true blue for his eyes.<br><br><a href="http://wolfnymph.artspots.com/image/21826/lightwings"><img src="http://www.artspots.com/files/image/file/21826/thumb_210/winged_blonde_husky_sm.jpg" alt="Thumbnail" /></a><br /><br />Medium: markers and graphite<br />Tags: dog anthro husky winged<br />

Flamecrest Sentry by Wolf Nymph

I was going to save this one for the Further Confusion art show in January, but I couldn't resist putting it up now. Another of my feathered canines, but with a background this time! This 5" X 7" painting was my attempt at making my art cheaper for your guys, by making it in a smaller, yet still enjoyable size. Once I had it sketched though, I got carried away and painted a background in acrylics. I'm going to be double matting this piece in red and black soon too, I'll post photos so you guys can see!

So, he's for sale! Please send me an email at (wolfnymph AT gmail DOT com) if you are interested.

Done with markers, acrylics and colored pencil on 5" X 7" bristol.

Eye of Spring by Wolf Nymph

"The Eye of Spring chooses it's Keeper, channeling their life force into the turning of seasons. They are blinded, for only the Eye may see what is to come. At the end of the Keeper's life, the Eye chooses another being through which to channel the coming of spring."

I christined my new sketchbook with this drawing, and ended up going pretty far with it. Done with the whole shebang of mediums! 90% Prismacolor marker, 10% graphite, colored pencil and acrylic.

Original is for sale, please email me at wolfnymph at gmail dot com!

Living Abundantly - Logo by Wolf Nymph

This is what has been occupying my time for several weeks! This is a logo for a woman I met while visiting my dad in Arizona. She was very sweet, and we ended up talking for a long time about animals and pets, and the impact they have on our lives as human beings. She hired me to do this logo for her business, incorperating a cornucopia (symbolizing abundance) and a bluebird of happiness (symbolizing freedom and happiness).

I tried a new technique with this one. I started off with a monochrome prismacolor marker drawing using eggshell, blondewood, putty and 50% cool grey. After scanning, I set the entire thing to multiply in photoshop, and painted in photoshop underneath the marker drawing. I've done this with graphite before, but the markers works much better and is much quicker.

Spark Armor by Wolf Nymph

This is the Spark Armor, a Starktech suit designed for my character Kinsey - http://wolfnymph.artspots.com/image/20010/spark---character-sheet

The suit is powered by the excess energy her body produces and stores in her spinal implants, Power Absorption Cells (PACs). Her hand and chest weapons are highly concentrated bursts of said energy. I wanted the armor to look only a little bit femanine in comparison to the Iron Man armor. Didn't want to have fembot syndrome with big metal boobs! Plus Kinsey isn't exactly very femanine outside the armor. ><;

Griffon - Avian Companion by Wolf Nymph

Commission for *botchiball! I actually finished this one a week or so ago while I was in Arizona visiting my dad, but I didn't have a scanner there, and when I got back to Colorado I forgot all about it! ><; Bad me. *slaps wrist*

This Griffon is a companion to a race called Avians. It is very intelligent and built a lot like a large heavy dog. Thi version of a Griffon cannot achieve true flight, but use their smaller wings and fan tail to glide. They have extra talons on each wing to help with climbing and manipulating objects when not in flight.

Had a ton of fun with the colour scheme of this one. Half dog half hawk colouring! Done with Markers, pencil (as in graphite) and a tad of acrylic paint.

Jonny Appleseed Helps the Wolf by Wolf Nymph

I haven't uploaded anything for a month, so I thought I'd finally post this children's book illustration I did for class last semester. This is Jonny Appleseed helping bandage the wolf's leg after finding him in a hunter's trap. The wolf then becomes his traveling companion!

I painted this entire thing in gesso and payne's gray acrylic before glazing color (also in acrylic) over it. It was my first time trying the technique. I think it was successful in creating ground and environment textures, but I'm not pleased with the way the wolf looks. I like Jonny's face though, I should paint more humans.

Sorry for my absense! I'm in a bit of an art lull, but I wanted to share some stuff that's been sitting around with you anyway.

Earth Bender Dog Girl by Wolf Nymph

FINALLY I finished this! This drawing has been sitting in my sketchbook since the beginning of spring semester, just waiting to be inked and colored. I think this is a testament to my practice with markers, because this is 90% prismacolor marker, with some acrylic and mechanical pencil touchups.

Anyway, as you can see I'm a fan of Avatar. Although I think I'm very close to being a water bender, I just had to go with Earth bending for Wolf Nymph. If she could, she'd do both, but I think that's against the rules of the Avatar universe. But, so is an earth bending anthro dog girl, so I'm breaking the rules no matter what!

She's the less femanine, more sturdy and warrior-like version of Nymph. Stubborn and fierce, hehe. I hope I got that across without making her look TOO manly, but she does look pretty beefy here.

I suppose she has many sides to her! ^^
